The caveat panels

Draft deferments & business bankruptcies

Two biographical counts from the viral list. Both are factual. Neither distinguishes the way the list implies, and the draft data actively contradicts the partisan framing, which is exactly why it belongs here unedited.

Vietnam-era draft avoidance (draft-eligible presidents only)

The honest finding cuts against the list that prompted this panel: Biden's deferment record (5 student + 1 medical) matches or exceeds Trump's (4 student + 1 medical), and every draft-eligible president in the window avoided Vietnam combat service by some legal mechanism. As a comparative integrity metric, this one measures the era, not the man. It's charted in neutral gray throughout because there is no outlier to accent.

Business bankruptcies

What six bankruptcies do and don't show

They're a real record of repeated business failure and of a structure that shifted losses to lenders and bondholders while the owner extracted fees; the business-findings record documents the valuation practices around them. What they can't do is rank presidents: a chart where five of six bars are structurally undefined isn't a comparison, it's a biography with gridlines. Defenders also note Chapter 11 was endemic to Atlantic City casinos in that era; critics note no other operator filed six times. Both points are true and neither is resolvable by this panel.
